About the AUD/HTG rate
The AUD/HTG rate is how many HTG one Australian dollar buys. It moves constantly with interest-rate expectations, commodity prices and global risk sentiment - see what moves the rate. Tradergy shows the mid-market reference rate and does not forecast where it’s heading. For the 52-week highs and lows and a daily table, see the AUD/HTG rate history.
Where else this pair appears: the reverse rate, HTG → AUD, is on the receiving Haitian gourde view, and sending Australian dollars to Haiti is covered on the AUD → HTG transfer page. Every AUD pair sits on the convert hub, and to work in more than one currency at once there is the currency converter.
The scale of money sent home
World Bank data put personal remittances received by Haiti at 22.45 per cent of gross domestic product in 2020, 19.25 per cent in 2021, 18.88 per cent in 2022, 19.18 per cent in 2023 and 16.95 per cent in 2024. At that level the flow is a structural component of the economy, and it arrives in foreign currency.
The high point of that series is its first year, and the path down from it is not a straight line: 2023 came in above 2022 before 2024 fell below both. A share expressed against gross domestic product moves when either number moves, so the series describes the relationship between the two rather than the size of the inflow on its own.
Because the flow matters at that scale, the channel carrying it is supervised as its own category of business. The Banque de la République d'Haïti, the country's central bank, describes a dedicated unit for it, the Surveillance des Activités de Transfert de Change, which licenses and supervises the maisons de transfert, the transfer divisions of banks, and electronic payment service providers. The three sit under one supervisor, so a transfer house in Haiti is authorised and examined on the same footing as a bank's own transfer arm.
